 CHRISTIANS AND MODERN IDOLATRY


Why does modern idolatry thrive? 
Because we were created to worship the Lord God our Creator and when people reject God, they still have that innate need to worship something so they turn their worship to idols, gods, icons or anything else they find to worship. 
The problem with ungodly worship and idolatry, is it slowly draws those people further and further away from the Lord Whom we should worship and adore, until their lives are so caught up with their idols they find it near impossible to turn back to God. 
The rejection of God leads to rejection of our Saviour Jesus, Who is the only way to salvation. That rejection finally leads to hatred of God, hatred of being corrected or challenged and that in turn leads to hatred of Christians, Jewish people, churches and Godly people.

 DIFFERING OPINIONS BETWEEN GODLY AND UNGODLY PEOPLE There are so many differences of opinion and behaviour it is impossible to list every difference. We hope the reader can understand the differences written here and can understand, ungodly people think and behave differently for two reasons.  One reason is they do not know God and therefore walk in their own form of self-righteousness. They are spiritually lost and need salvation.  They are spiritually deaf so they cannot listen to God’s Word.  The other reason they oppose Godly people is they are walking in the footsteps of their father, the devil.  Jesus said, “Why do you not understand My speech?  WE CANNOT HIDE FROM GOD We cannot go anywhere, where God cannot see us.  There is nowhere to hide from the eyes of God.  We cannot hide our sins from God either.  We need to face God when we sin, confess our sin to Him and allow His forgiveness to refresh us.  ‘I acknowledged my sin to You.  I did not hide my iniquity.  I said, I will confess my transgressions to God and You forgave the iniquity of my sin’  (Psalm 32:5).
