SCOTTISH JEWISH PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OWN NEW TARTAN ‘You are not to wear garments made of mixed thread, wool and linen together’ (Deuteronomy 22:11). The only Scottish-born Rabbi in Scotland initiated the process of giving Scottish Jews their own tartan and chose the kosher design. The tartan fabric is made of kosher, non-wool/linen mix consistent with Jewish laws that prohibit mixing wool and linen in garments. This kosher tartan kilt is 100% wool.
