SOME EVENTS THAT WILL OCCUR BEFORE JESUS RETURNS

SOME EVENTS THAT WILL OCCUR BEFORE JESUS RETURNS We all know that happened in 70 AD when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and sent the Jewish population scattering around the world.  Then the disciples asked three questions, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?" (Matthew 24:3).  Jesus did not tell the disciples when these things would begin to happen.  He did not tell them exactly what the precise sign of His second coming is going to be and He did not reveal when the end of the age would be.  The end of the age is not the end of the world.  It is the end of the age of grace that will usher in the one thousand years Messianic reign. GOD IS BEAUTIFUL

Image
GOD IS BEAUTIFUL God is beautiful on many levels.  His holiness is beautiful.  ‘Give to the Lord the glory due to His name.  Bring an offering and come before Him.  Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness’ (1 Chronicles 16:29).  ‘When he (Jehoshaphat) had consulted with the people (in Israel), he appointed singers to the Lord so they should praise the beauty of holiness as they went out before the army and to say, “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever’” (2 Chronicles 20:21).  Read more at: www.bibleabookoftruth.com

CALEB

Image
CALEB The first time Caleb is mentioned in the Bible he was already an adult.  We know little about his childhood except Caleb’s father Jephunneh was not Jewish, he was a Kenizzite – a tribe considered to be enemies of Abraham many years earlier (Genesis 15:19).  Caleb’s mother, whose name is not recorded, would have been Jewish from the tribe of Judah.  The name Caleb means ‘dog’ which reveals his questionable bloodline.  He was a child of mixed race. In spite of this, Caleb spent his entire adult life obeying God’s every command, loyally, faithfully, fearlessly, righteously, with humility and honour. Read more at : www.bibleabookoftruth.com

DANIEL'S SEVENTY WEEKS

Image
DANIEL'S SEVENTY WEEKS All of the prophecies regarding the Messiah are written in the Torah and Tenach, which are the Old Testament Scriptures.  If the Jewish people had studied the Bible properly they would have been fully aware Jesus was the Messiah they were waiting for, and they would have known what Daniel meant when he wrote, “The Anointed One will be cut off.”  They should have known their Messiah was going to be killed.  The result of ignoring what was written in the Scriptures resulted in the terrible burning of Jerusalem, the Jews being scattered worldwide, the destruction of the second temple and the spiritual blindness that came down over them. GOD HAS AN OPINION REGARDING SIN

Image
GOD HAS AN OPINION REGARDING SIN Every person in the world is a sinner and all sin needs to be repented of, confessed to God and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.  By confessing our sin to God we declare we are responsible for the sin and therefore we can work with God to overcome it.  God already knows our sins so we cannot shock Him by telling Him what we have done.  To receive forgiveness we must first repent.  Unless we repent, God will not forgive.  We must also forgive ourselves for failing Him.  There is no sin that cannot be confessed and forgiven. FACTS ABOUT CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS

Image
FACTS ABOUT CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS There is no need to feel uncomfortable with celebrating Christmas as a Christian, as long as we do not worship the tree or be involved in any of the pagan rituals.  Giving gifts, resting, feasting with family, sending notes, letters and cards of goodwill and peace, and having a holiday is all good, because if we read the book of Esther, we can see the Jews celebrated Purim by feasting, giving gifts, enjoying a holiday and enjoying a good rest.  It was a time filled with gladness and they wrote letters of greeting one to another.  Their leader spoke peace to his people (Esther 9:17 to 22; 10:3).  Although Purim is during February, the concept is similar.  It is a time of family gathering and rest.  The festival the Jews celebrate in December is Hanukkah, also known as the Feast of Dedication.  Read more at: www.bibleabookoftruth.com

THE LAST SUPPER OF JESUS

Image
THE LAST SUPPER OF JESUS When Jesus gave the bread and wine to His disciples at the Last Supper, He was performing the rite that had begun with Melchizedek.  Melchizedek was both king and priest as we can see in the above verse.  Jesus is also our King and Priest Who followed after the order of Melchizedek (Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 7:1).  The approximate date of the Last Supper can be worked out by reading the scriptures.  ‘This month will be to you the beginning of months.  It will be the first month of the year to you’ (Exodus 12:2).  ‘The first month is the month Nisan’ (Esther 3:7).  ‘In the first month (of Nisan), on the fourteenth day of the month is the Lord’s Passover.  On the fifteenth day of this month (Nisan) there will be a feast and for seven days you will eat unleavened bread’ (Numbers 28:16 & 17).
