 FACTS ABOUT WEDDING CELEBRATIONS Weddings have changed dramatically over time.  When Isaac and Rebekah married, their lifelong marriage began as simply as Isaac inviting Rebekah into the tent and after the relationship was consummated, they were husband and wife.  There was no ceremony.  By the time Jesus came to earth, weddings were massive celebrations that lasted about three days.  Many people were invited, food and feasting were enjoyed and the families of the bride and groom were expected to provide accommodation for the invited guests who had travelled long distances.  Read more at: www.bibleabookoftruth.com

 ACTIONS THAT REVEAL MATURITY IN GOD There are many signs that reveal whether or not we are maturing in our walk with God.  After accepting salvation by faith (Ephesians 2:8), our Spiritual walk is a slow progression rather than sprint to the finish line.  Only after we have passed off this earth and are eternally with the Lord will we reach perfection (Hebrews 12:23) but in the meantime we need to focus on our walk with God and voluntarily choose to act in a way that glorifies Him in our bodies.  WHEN WAS JESUS BORN? Although the coming of Jesus is exceedingly significant in the lives of humanity, the exact date of the birth of Jesus has no Spiritual significance.  We can walk with God in the fullest extent without knowing the actual date of Jesus’ birth.  We must not become obsessed with knowing Jesus’ birthday.  The date of His birth has historical interest but no Spiritual necessity.  Our Spiritual walk depends on knowing Jesus personally in a heart to heart relationship, but our walk with Him does not depend on knowing the exact date of His birth.  A POSITIVE LOOK AT PHARISEES When people speak about Pharisees, the first thing they may think of is the way Jesus rebuked them for their hypocrisy and legalism.  There is a lot more to the Pharisees and although they were not called Pharisees in the Old Testament, their culture originated during the days of Moses when the Jewish people were given the Law.  Pharisee means ‘Faithful One’.  It was their disciplined study of the Bible that brought the knowledge of God to the world.   FAMILIES ARE BLESSED BY ISRAELI’S  THE DESCENDANTS OF ABRAHAM Eternal life is wonderful and we delight in it but there are other blessings that constantly come from Abraham’s descendants, the Israeli’s.  Some of their activities impacting the world most are their humanitarian and disaster relief efforts.  During natural disasters Israeli’s are often the first to offer assistance to the country struck by a natural calamity, blessing the people with their help and expertise.  What they have achieved during times of natural disasters is beyond what other, wealthier countries do.   Read more at: www.bibleabookoftruth.com

 FACTS ABOUT CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS Christmas is as pagan as any celebration can be, and we as Christians need to stop merging Christmas with Christianity.  There is nothing Christian about Christmas.  Parents who tell their children ‘Santa’ is real are in reality, blatantly lying to innocent, impressionable children and that is sin.  Parents need to tell their children honestly, they, other family members or friends are the ones giving the gifts.  The modern Christmas is a mixture of Babylonianism, paganism, Hellenism, idolatry and ancient Egyptian rituals, plus a few more modern traditions and extreme materialism.  Genuine Christians should be horrified at the thought, for all their lives they have been ‘touching the unclean things’.  There is a way we can enjoy the festivities of the season, such as the holidays, gifts and family time, without resorting to the paganism of it.  ABRAHAM THE FATHER OF MANY NATIONS Although there are millions of Abraham’s biological descendants, believers who accept salvation and who are grafted into the Jewish family by the blood of Jesus become the adopted children of Abraham.  Truly, Abraham has lived up to his name as the father of many nations, nationalities, ethnic groups, kings and his descendants are as numerable as the stars and grains of sand.  ‘As Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness, know therefore those who are of (Jewish and Christian) faith are children of Abraham.  The Scripture, foreseeing God would justify the Gentiles by faith preached the Gospel beforehand to Abraham by saying, “In you (and his descendent Jesus) all the nations on earth will be blessed’” (Galatians 3:6 to 8).
