GOD HAS CHOSEN US IN THE FURNACE OF AFFLICTION
God Has Chosen Us In The Furnace Of Affliction
The chastening of the Lord is not a popular
topic because many Christians choose to believe they will have a ‘happy clappy’
prosperous, carefree life until God takes them home to glory. That concept of
Christianity is far from scriptural. We need to accept the uncomfortable truth;
the Bible says it is God’s will for us to suffer because Jesus suffered. As
joint heirs with Jesus, we must share in His suffering if we are to share in His
glory, because a disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his
Lord. The opposite of that is, if we refuse to share His suffering, then we can
never share in His glory. All Christians go through a fiery furnace of
suffering and testing. It is hard to comprehend that it is God’s will for
people to suffer and that suffering is part of His plan for mankind while we
are on earth. Before you scream, “That is not what I have been taught,” have a
look at the scriptures written throughout the Bible to back that statement up.
For some people who prefer the easy way out, that is too difficult to accept.
Suffering is not a superficial subject; it is a subject with eternal
consequences.
