PSALM 23. THE LORD IS OUR SHEPHERD

Image
PSALM 23. THE LORD IS OUR SHEPHERD The Good Shepherd is one of the often quoted phrases in the Bible when referring to God the Father and also to Jesus our Messiah.  Jesus referred to Himself as the Good Shepherd and likens His genuine disciples, His followers and believers to ‘sheep’ and gave us a mental picture of Himself as our tending Shepherd.  By working together, God the Father was the One Who orchestrated salvation for mankind and Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb (John1:29). WHAT JESUS MIGHT HOLD AGAINST YOU

Image
WHAT JESUS MIGHT HOLD AGAINST YOU  Jesus said, “I have this against you, you have left your first love … I have a few things against you, because you have there (in your church) some people who hold the teaching of Balaam who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the Children of Israel, to eat food sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality … I have this against you, you tolerate your woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols …I know your works, you are neither cold nor hot.  I wish you were cold or hot but because you are luke warm and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth” (Revelation 2:4, 14 & 20; 3:15). JERUSALEM

Image
JERUSALEM ‘Melchizedek king of (Jeru)Salem brought out bread and wine.  He was Priest of God Most High.  He blessed Abram and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, and blessed be God Most High Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all he had’ (Genesis 14:18 to 20).  This verse is the first time Jerusalem was mentioned in the Bible.   Salem means ‘Peace’ and was the original name for the city.  Jerusalem means ‘House of Peace’.  It is the only place on earth where the Bible says the Lord dwells and has His Tabernacle.  ‘In Judah, God is known.  His name is great in Israel.  His Tabernacle is in (Jeru)Salem.  His dwelling place is in Zion’ (Psalm 76:1 & 2).  Read more at: www.bibleabookoftruth.com

THE SECRET TO LIVING A CONTENTED LIFE

Image
THE SECRET TO LIVING A CONTENTED LIFE Many people, including many Christians think a contented life is one of wealth, stable job, large home, a new vehicle every few years, good wife/husband, nice children, expensive clothes, good church and being able to get along with the in-laws.  That is not what the writers of the Bible meant when they refer to contentment.  Placing our hope in these worldly aspects is a counterfeit view.  Although not necessarily sinful, that viewpoint can only lead to discontent and overwhelming heartache if a disaster comes along and these gains are suddenly gone. KING SOLOMON

Image
KING SOLOMON The name Solomon means ‘peaceful’.  His holy pet name Jedidiah means ‘beloved of the Lord’.  God Himself told David he would have a son named Solomon years before he was born. “Behold, a son will be born to you who will be a man of rest".  I will give him rest from all his enemies all around for his name will be Solomon and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.  He will build a house for My name and he will be My son and I will be his father. CHRISTIANS AND THE SABBATH DAY

Image
CHRISTIANS AND THE SABBATH DAY The seventh day was set aside to remember creation and all of Abraham’s descendants had to remember the Shabbat and keep it holy.  When Jesus was resurrected, the first day of the week, the day we call Sunday was set aside to keep alive and fresh Jesus’ resurrection from the dead in the minds of the new wave of Godly people who became Christians. GOD'S OPINION OF VIOLENCE TOWARDS WOMEN

Image
GOD'S OPINION OF VIOLENCE TOWARDS WOMEN ‘You cover the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and with sighing because He does not accept your offering any more, nor will He receive it with good will at your hand.  You ask, “Why?”  God has been witness between you and the wife of your youth against whom you have dealt treacherously though she is your companion and the wife of your marriage covenant.  He made you two one flesh.  Why one flesh?  Because He wanted Godly children from you.  Take heed to your spirit and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.  “I hate divorce,” says God, “And I hate the husband who covers his wife with violence! Therefore take heed to your spirit so you do not deal treacherously with your wife’”  (Malachi 2:13 to16). Read more at: www.bibleabookoftruth.com
